Questions & Answers About Our Divorce Plans

Frequently Asked Questions

Your plan choice depends on your budget, needs, and required support level. If you’d like to start the process alone (without your spouse), the Premium or Pro plan is the best option. If you would like additional support, serving included, and access to a lawyer, the Premium Plan is the right option for you. If you and your spouse want to complete the divorce together, the Joint Plan is right for you.

There are a few differences between the Pro and Premium Divorce Plans, including support, serving, and access to a lawyer. If you purchase the Premium Plan, you get access to our premium support team, GetJustice serves your spouse with all of the forms that need serving, and if you need it, you have access to a lawyer for a fee.

This is always a tricky question. The divorce process has a big time frame, given that there are a lot of variables that go into the process. The time frame can vary depending on how busy courts are, how long it takes your spouse to respond, and how long it takes for a judge to make a ruling on your file.

If you sign up for our Premium Plan, we’ll give you access to a lawyer that best suits your needs and case. We ensure to provide you with a respectable and knowledgeable lawyer to ensure you’re well taken care of during your journey.

Yes, you can. A GetJustice separation agreement can be purchased as a plan add-on for $99.

Our focus on technology enables us to process your documents a lot quicker than a lawyer, and this will save you time and money. We genuinely believe that this is your process, and you should be in charge of it at every stage. For example, no problem if you need a lawyer, but you won’t be charged for one if you don’t.

Our Joint Divorce Plan includes everything you need, from separation to divorce. The plan begins with a separation agreement and a 2 hr mediation session. After that, GetJustice takes you through the Joint divorce process, which starts with a joint divorce petition.

Of course. You don’t need your spouse to begin the divorce process. In our Pro and Premium Plans, GetJustice will help you get the divorce started by yourself (you’d be called a sole petitioner).

GetJustice is a fully online service, so we have the opportunity to serve individuals across Canada. We are currently helping individuals in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, and Saskatchewan file for divorce.

Yes. Suppose you think a mediation session would benefit you and your spouse; in that case, you can certainly add a 2-hour mediation session with a professional mediator and Divorce Coach to your plan for $500.
